History
Richard S. (Dick) Armstrong founded RSA Engineering in 1983. Building on his 10 years of Alaska engineering experience, Dick set out on his own and soon earned the trust and respect of the North Slope Borough.
Dick's company designed power plants, wastewater treatment plants, and virtually every conceivable type of facility for numerous remote villages throughout the borough.
In just three years, Dick grew his sole proprietorship into an 11-person firm and incorporated in the fall of 1986.
In 2000, Dave Oliver, P.E., took over the reins and became President and Principal Electrical Engineer. In early 2008, Dave passed those reins over to Mack W. Bergstedt, P.E., President and Principal Mechanical Engineer and Timothy E. Hall, P.E., Vice President and Principal Electrical Engineer.
Mack and Tim are supported by Mark R. Frischkorn, P.E., Vice President of Mechanical Engineering and Roger Weese, P.E., RCDD, Principal Electrical Engineer, as well as other senior staff members.
Once best known for its rural expertise, RSA has recently emerged as a leader in urban engineering as well. In 2001, the company designed the mechanical and electrical systems for South Anchorage High School. In 2004, RSA Engineering was on the winning team for the Anchorage Museum Expansion, which recently became LEED Certified.
Over the years RSA has provided mechanical and electrical design services for numerous, significant projects across the State of Alaska. During this time we have stayed true to our goals of providing the most efficient, effective design possible—while staying on time and within budget.
RSA is now celebrating its 25th anniversary. The company is 44-employees strong and the future looks bright. RSA remains a strong, healthy firm offering clients large and small a wealth of experience and expertise. We look forward to another successful 25-plus years of providing dependable, high quality consulting engineering services throughout Alaska.
